Final Exit Plan
Short term
While
I am currently still studying at University as a student but I am nearly finished my final year, I planned to
improve and gain more knowledge working with 3D work including
environments and other assets within this work in order for me to become a better artist. I have been working on 2
modules this semester in which I had to build something for each and
this has helped me improve on things that I may not have been so good at before, for example texturing. I have currently worked on a number of environments alone
and in groups, but working on the 2 environments this semester for the
last few months has helped me become better in that section of 3D
modelling and I have tested and tried out new things that I may
not have used in previous work which has helped get my work to a good enough
standard to work in the industry.
Working on both
projects during the semester has increased my knowledge and
skills with what I already know within the environment artist job role. For the time we have left of University I plan to be working mainly on both environments as I feel that this is more important to me if I am able to stand a chance getting a job I need to make sure my environments are finished and good enough to show. For the time last few weeks that I have left for the 2 modules I plan to work really hard to make sure that I get the work finished and working with another person has kind of helped as I can have more time to work on both environments in what it is I am building.
Long term
I'm
not too sure what I want to do after Uni but I may focus on improving
both my modelling skills and texturing because I feel that I can still improve
and that I could perhaps produce better work if I tried out different
techniques. This will mean taking some time out before going for a job
and working to get so much better at what it is I want to do for when I do decided to apply for
one. I feel that my work compared to work in the industry is no way near
as good and I find that I am not as confident as I should be with my
work which is why I think it would be a good reason to focus on my
weaknesses within being a 3D artist in general. Doing this could mean I could work on stuff I
have already done to make it better and try out new techniques for
example, on any environment work I have at the end of the course I could
work on, using the time I take out to help me improve my 3D skills and
texturing skills. Also I haven't really looked into many texture maps which in reality could probably make my work look so much better and improve a lot of the work that I have been working on throughout this semester, especially the 2 main environments I have been doing.
